Damian Clarke is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics of the Universidad de Chile and The University of Exeter and he is affiliated with research centres working on labour economics (IZA@LISER), health (IEPS Brazil) and the future of work (Rockwool Foundation).

Damian’s research is focused on labour economics, public economics and health. Damian’s recent research has studied maternal, child, and population health, family fertility decisions, and other within-household decisions. He is also interested in applied microeconometrics, and is an author of a number of open-source software routines for microeconometric methods, and he currently serves as the Data Editor of the Royal Economic Society. Damian has written a number of text books with a focus on microeconometric and computational methods.

Damian received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2016, and a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Oxford in 2012.

He has participated in projects funded by various international organizations, including the World Bank, UNESCO, UNU-WIDER, and CAF Development Bank of Latin America, generally focusing on education or health in Latin America and West Africa.
