Eugenia Andreasen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Director of the Master in Economic Analysis. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute in 2012, and a Master’s in Economics from the European University Institute in 2008.
Her research focuses on three broad areas of economics: international finance, macroeconomics, and financial economics. In particular, her lines of research can be grouped into two main topics: the effects of capital controls and macroprudential policies, and the determinants and consequences of sovereign defaults and equilibrium debt levels.
Professor Andreasen has worked as a consultant for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, generally focusing on issues of macroeconomic and financial analysis in Latin America. Currently, she is a member of the Grupo de Política Monetaria.
